Ten towns/villages belong to this Community which is situated just a few miles South West of Limoges. A network of main roads serve the Vienne Valley.It is a land of cattle breeding, with green and undulating pastures, where there are many rivers and streams like the Vienne, the Aixette,and the Aurence : this area is a genuine and privileged site for rural tourism.
In the Vienne Valley, you have the possibility to practise a host of sports activities ! : horse riding in four different equestrian centres, bike riding and walks with numerous signposted paths in each village. You can also discover several sites for fishing or canoeing.Traditions remain with farms and breeding of Limousine cows in most rural towns and villages.
The Vienne Valley has also been an industrialised area since the XIXth century : by the Vienne river, former hydro-electric mills and the manufactures of porcelain show you this rich industrial activity from the past.
Furthermore, the Vienne Valley is a dynamic area looking to the future : it is concerned about protecting its heritage. It is the reason why we suggest to tourists that they discover the lovely little hamlets as well as the numerous villages about which they can dream.

The Tourist Office is situated on the N 21 road, near the Town Hall of Aixe-Sur-Vienne and will welcome you to the Community of Villages of the Vienne Valley.
